Andriy Halashyn was born in Ukraine, but has lived and worked in Costa Rica for over 15 years. His art is dystopian, imaginary cosmopolitan worlds recreated from pop culture references, fashion and marketing. His use of oil saturates the canvas with color and gives the appearance of collage with juxtaposed messages that give us a “reality check”.
He has exhibited his work around the world in the United States, Ukraine, Colombia, Costa Rica and Panama. Among his exhibitions are Los Angeles Art Show (Los Angeles), Arte Americas (Miami), Red Dot Art Fair (Miami), Arteahora Art Fair (Chicago) and the Hot Art Fair (Switzerland).
