BY MANUEL FERNÁNDEZ
Fashion Art by Manuel Fernández was born in 1998 with the desire to offer to the most outstanding artists of the international pictorial panorama, a new and exceptional support where to express their work: a dress-canvas. Each artist acts by intervening on a different dress, in white, where he/she expresses his/her work and, consequently, creates a unique piece of art.
Inspired by the baptism of Pocahontas Ralph Hamor described her as an extraordinary woman thanks to an English minister named Alexander Whitaker who taught her about Christianity and she was baptized as Rebecca. It was during this time that she learned and perfected her English. It is also said that Pocahontas became pregnant after the rape, which is why she was taken to Herico, where she gave birth to a boy named Thomas before her marriage to Rolfe died at the age of 22 from tuberculosis.
