THE WORK
Daniel Parra Lozano, born in Cordoba, has been living and working in Malaga for years. Graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Seville, he has been awarded more than 300 national and international prizes in the modalities of painting, drawing, illustration and comic. He has exhibited, individually and collectively on more than 60 occasions, in cities such as: Amsterdam (Netherlands), Breda (Netherlands), Madrid, Tangier (Morocco), Dushambé (Tajikistan), Frosinone (Italy)….
In 2018 he began to develop his pictorial art project Trafalgar: the journey, creating for the first time images in narrative about the battle of Trafalgar. A series of 30 works that allow the public to approach one of the most important events in history with new eyes, through a narrative and contemporary language, accompanied by explanatory historical texts. This project has been exhibited at the Sala El Portón in Alhaurín de la Torre (Málaga), and at the IE Creativy Center Exhibition Hall (Casa de la Moneda in Segovia), as part of the Hay Festival Segovia 2019 program.
In 2020, on the occasion of the Centenary of the death of Benito Pérez Galdós, Daniel Parra delves even deeper into the battle under the letters of Galdós, and develops a unique relationship with the author of Trafalgar National Episode 1, creating unpublished images that bring sensations never seen before to our collective imagination, bringing the viewer even closer to know this historical event that marked a before and after in the history of Spain.
